IS THE BEACH IN SOUTHWOLD NICE?

Updated: Dec 26, 2022

Location Location Location!

Being located next to The Denes Beach & GunHill in Southwold, is ideal.

This beach is awarded blue flag, and is very well kept throughout the year. If you need to bring it down a notch, the option of a bucket and spade and beach chair, picnic are endless. Stripping down and soaking up hthe rays, or layering up and cup of tea with a toasted sarnie. The options maybe many, but there is one constant - a landscape that is simply beautiful.

Number 5 Southwold is central for the high street and the stunning harbourside. Southwold has a rich street life, culinary riches and pastel hued homes. There is first class seafood right on the doorstep - to spoil yourself. And if you are not into fishyfood, there are plenty of restaurants/ deli's to cater. Scour the local market stall for fresh sea food or tuck into a fresh seafood platter. Or, kick back with something crisp in hand. There are a number of quality independents, selective convenience shops for fish, meat, excellent wine, beer and cheese. There is also the market in the town's square on a Thursday (i think!). In my holiday cottage, I leave a good shopping bag in the entrance hall. You will need it!

For Brunch, there are so so many cafe's and bakeries in town. Lots of spoiling on offer. Many require no-booking so pop in and try for a seat (or have a takeaway). I would say the coffee in town is FABULOUS. Take a moment, have a coffee and maybe another - ok, maybe that is me.

I love the abundance off road walks through the marshes, along the harbourside to Walberswick and beyond. Its like a giant playground waiting to be tackled.

IT IS SO ROMANTIC AND RELAXED IN SOUTHWOLD.

The British Coast is just incredible - I encourage everyone to spend a holiday there.
